Center for Training and Community Development
CTD is a Vietnamese charity with which we work in the delivery of our University Fees Scholarship Programme.
The charity works to provide schooling, food and shelter for children living on the streets. It aims to support the families who have 'sold' the children because of an inability to provide home and food for the child. It is doing some interesting and innovative work in Vietnam.
Phil participated in fund-raising for Operation Smile the month before he passed away. The Trust has contributed for additional operations in Hanoi.
This was Phil's secondary school. It was here that he passed a happy 6 years of learning and got the 'bug' for economics. This led him to the London School of Economics, Oxford University (Magdalen College) and eventually to the World Bank. The Trust supports an annual lecture in economics and an economics essay prize.
